Host

Dr. Beckham is Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine, Neurology, and Immunology & Microbiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the VA Rocky Mountain Regional Medical Center.  Dr. Beckham’s research focuses on mechanisms of neuroinflammation following viral infections. Recent work in the laboratory has discovered that alpha-synuclein plays an important role in the immune response to acute viral infections in the central nervous system. The laboratory is currently working to define the mechanisms of alpha-synuclein-induced immune responses and the impact of inflammatory triggers on synuclein pathology in the brain.
