The lab of Dr Paul the Sousa will use a set of specific stem cell lines of Sydney IVF in Australia to study Huntington disease (HD). The cells are a valuable tool for HD disease modelling and provide the basis for a range of experiments to look into HD disease mechanisms and the screening of disease modifying compounds. The aim of this new research project is to understand the mechanisms contributing to the instability of DNA, which underpins this disease.
