Leading science, pioneering therapies

About us

Scientists and clinicians at the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine (CRM) study stem cells, disease and tissue repair to advance human health.

The CRM building was purpose built to house over 250 staff, was officially opened by HRH Princess Royal in May 2012 and received substantial funding from the Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise.

CRM was established in 2008 with the aim to gain fundamental understanding of stem cells and regeneration and to use this knowledge to improve human health. We also provide leadership in training and public engagement.

The University of Edinburgh has secured funding to build a new Centre for Tissue Regeneration and Repair (CTRR). CTRR will be constructed directly adjacent to the SCRM building and considerably expand our on-site research capacity.

We are delighted to have been awarded the Athena Swan Silver status in 2015.
