Leading science, pioneering therapies

About us

Scientists and clinicians at the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine (CRM) study stem cells, disease and tissue repair to advance human health.

Welcome to the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine. You can tour our Centre here, with our guide Sophie Quick, who is a PhD student at the Centre.

In 2015, The University of Edinburgh secured funding to build phase 1 of a new Centre for Tissue Repair (CTR) building and construction began in October 2017 on the site adjacent to the CRM building.

We are delighted to have been awarded the Athena Swan Silver status in 2015.

The CRM building was purpose built to house over 250 staff, was officially opened by HRH Princess Royal in May 2012 and received substantial funding from the Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise.

The MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine was formed in May 2008. To mark 10 years of leading science, we want to recognise some of the people who have made the Centre a success. Over the coming year we'll be telling the stories of some of those people.
